Sports Office
For the turf sports facility Juchhof 3, opening in autumn 2027, along with the existing turf sports facilities Juchhof 1 and Juchhof 2, we are seeking an Operations Manager from 1 February 2027 or by arrangement.
Tasks
- You are responsible for the safe and economical operation of the turf sports facilities Juchhof 1 and Juchhof 2 as well as Juchhof 3.
- Together with a deputy, you manage the three facilities with a team of around 16 employees, plan their work assignments and promote their professional and personal development.
- You accompany the new construction of Juchhof 3, ensure the operational suitability of all buildings, facilities, machines and equipment, coordinate external service providers and ensure compliance with occupational safety, health protection and fire protection.
- You control and optimise operational processes and resource use, further develop the offer and organise the training and event operations of around 150 teams.
- You represent the turf sports facilities internally and externally, support events and projects and maintain contact with clubs, schools and other user groups.
- You embody a strong service and hospitality culture, attend to the concerns of customers and actively contribute to high customer satisfaction.
Profile
- Technical or craft basic training (EFZ) as well as leadership training and leadership experience, ideally complemented by business management education or further training in facility management, sports management or a related field (HF/FH)
- Several years of experience in the operation, maintenance and management of sports or leisure facilities, ideally with knowledge in the care of natural and artificial turf as well as in the supervision of construction projects or commissioning
- Strong communication skills and a confident appearance, high IT affinity, sound knowledge of relevant safety, hygiene and operational standards as well as a category B driving licence, preferably with trailer test
- Service-oriented and resilient personality with a pragmatic, solution-oriented and entrepreneurial way of thinking and working
- Willingness to work irregular hours as well as evening and weekend shifts

The Sports Office is a service department of the School and Sports Department of the City of Zurich. It is the competence centre for sports promotion and provides the sports facilities including indoor and outdoor pools to the sports-enthusiastic population and clubs. The organisation of compulsory swimming lessons as well as voluntary school sports are also core tasks of the Sports Office. With targeted information, the Sports Office motivates more movement and advises and supports sports organisations.
