Job Description
Purpose of the position:
- Execution of complex and new applications/experiments
- Actively contributes to scientific and operational activities and projects in biology
The area of responsibility:
- Conduct projects qualitatively and efficiently, i.e., independently plan, schedule, and execute experiments. Collect data, file patent-compliant, complete reports on time
- Detailed record-keeping and PC-supported evaluation of experiments (databases, tables, graphics). Reporting and discussing results with supervisors
- Conducting special experiments
- Mechanism of action, site of action, uptake, distribution, metabolism, application timing, activity profile in various crops, processing of routine experiments (activity testing of substances)
- Working in the laboratory, greenhouse, and field
- Safety and responsibility in handling biological material with increased safety classification (S2), sterile work
- Independent/responsible establishment and further development of methods. Deepening in specific subject areas
- Taking responsibility for general facilities or specialized areas
Qualifications
- Specialized training in horticulture, agronomy, and/or biology. Apprenticeship in agrobiology or in another technical field / BMS or BSc in agrobiology or equivalent vocational training
- Good IT skills
- Prior knowledge in the area of responsibility
- Good knowledge of German and English in spoken and written form (Level B2 or above)
- Experience in handling plants and plant diseases
- Experience in microbiology
- Experience in molecular biology and/or microscopy is an advantage
- Due to the diversity of experiments and the constantly shifting issues, independence, organizational talent, quick and secure familiarization with new questions, decision-making ability, and a solid knowledge base are necessary
- Communicates in the team, is transparent and open to feedback
- Is flexible towards changes
- Expected workload: 100%
