Job description
The position is part of the Institutional and Decision Data Office, attached to the General Secretariat (Rectorate). The post holder's main tasks will be to support the Chief Data Officer and the statistician in managing current files, updating indicators and statistics, and disseminating statistical information in various formats. Part of the activity will also be devoted to data control within the framework of various data deliveries to the Federal Statistical Office.
The post holder's main tasks are to:
- Participate in the management of current files (data delivery to the FSO, data control and collection and updating of institutional indicators and rankings) and support the statistician in organising and managing meetings
- Prepare and present results in the form of tables and graphs; write comments for publication and/or transmission to various requesters (internal/external)
- Maintain and update statistical data on various dissemination media (websites, annual brochure and booklets)
Title and required skills
Basic training and professional experience required:
- Commercial employee CFC, gymnasium maturity or equivalent training
- Additional training in data management/analysis and statistics
- Additional skills in communication, website management
- 2 to 3 years of experience in public statistics or a similar position
- Experience in information management and database quality
Specific knowledge useful for the position:
- Perfect command of common office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Good knowledge of InDesign
- Mastery of Excel, macros and any other data management tool (Access for example)
- Good knowledge of reporting tools (Cognos, PowerBi)
- Comfortable with numbers and databases: ease in understanding and interpreting statistical data
- Excellent writing skills in French; good knowledge of German is an asset
- Ability to work independently, rigorously and precisely; equipped with a strong sense of service
- Analytical, synthesis and writing skills
- Proactivity, political awareness, knowledge of Geneva and Swiss political issues
- Knowledge of the University or the academic world and public administration
