Ensuring electricity in Switzerland
In this exciting role, you and your team are responsible for the conceptual further development of the framework conditions of the Swiss and European electricity markets. For this, you develop and optimise products in the area of frequency regulation and flexibility markets, so that Swissgrid can guarantee a secure grid operation at all times in the future. In addition, you take on the following tasks:
- Leadership and development of the team as well as creating a motivating environment for performance, innovation and collaboration
- Shaping the further development of TSO products and markets as well as initiating and leading strategically relevant projects
- Developing the target vision for the frequency control of the future and deriving concrete solutions for a changing electricity market and grid operation
- Early identification of technological, political and regulatory trends and translating these developments into future-proof strategies and implementation measures
- Unlocking and orchestrating flexibility in the energy system, from central and decentralised resources to new solutions for the changed Swiss generation mix
- Strengthening national and international cooperation as well as representing Swissgrid vis-à-vis distribution network operators, power plants, flexibility providers, transmission system operators and in relevant expert committees

For this role, we are looking for you as a leader with strong communication skills, systematic problem-solving and decision-making competence, as well as the ability to create a motivating work environment. You bring the following:
- Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of the essential elements of the national and international electricity market
- Strong understanding of Swissgrid's operational processes and the impact of regulatory requirements on these processes
- Excellent strategic and conceptual skills for rapid and comprehensive assessment of complex and multidisciplinary topics
Holistic perspective and commitment to pragmatic solutions
- Targeted and convincing communication skills across various hierarchical levels
- Ability to build and maintain sustainable relationships and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to motivate others and achieve set goals together
- Recognising new opportunities and developments, independent opinion formation and rapid adaptation to new situations
- University degree, possibly with a doctorate, in electrical engineering or economics/business administration, as well as a good understanding of the other discipline
