About the job
The IT Services of the City of Thun (IDT) are a central service provider for the city administration of Thun, the Thun public schools, and for third-party clients, such as regional municipalities. IDT currently supports and maintains around 4,300 workstations, 215 servers, 4,800 user accounts in the education network, and 800 user accounts in the administration area.
At the IT Services Thun, you will gain an exciting insight into the diverse tasks of the city and help support them with our innovative IT solutions.
From 1 August 2027, we offer an apprenticeship in the IT Services
Your tasks:
- Receiving and handling hardware, software, and network issues via telephone or ticket system
- Preparing and installing IT workstations
- Assisting with the analysis, resolution, and documentation of ICT problems
- Supporting the ordering process and handling warranty cases
- Assisting with the recording of access permissions
- Updating and recording knowledge entries on IT topics and creating new process descriptions
You bring with you:
- Preferably a school leaving certificate at secondary or intermediate school level with 10 years of schooling
- Interest in IT and new technologies
- Confident German language skills in speaking and writing as well as good English skills
- Creativity in problem-solving and a quick grasp of new information
- Reliable, conscientious working style and willingness to learn new things
- Open-minded and helpful personality with enjoyment in contact with people
What to expect:
- 4-year training including an external basic school year in Bern
- Practical training in the areas of operation, maintenance, installation, and planning
- 7 weeks holiday, 41-hour working week
