The Department of Psychiatry is seeking an assistant physician at a workload between 80% and 100% for the Outpatient Psychiatry Unit for the Elderly of SUPAA – North in Yverdon-les-Bains, starting 1 November 2026.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.

The Department of Psychiatry comprises 12 services covering the three life stages and the Central, Western and Northern sectors of the canton.

Led by Professor Armin von Gunten, SUPAA – University Service of Psychiatry for the Elderly is recognised as a place for advanced training in psychiatry and psychotherapy of the elderly (category C-D2 A, maximum ISFM-FMH recognition: 2 years outpatient, 2 years inpatient).

The service provides care for people aged 65 and over with psychiatric disorders, at SUPAA, the Brine Therapeutic Centre, at home or in nursing homes.

Mission

You provide direct and indirect clinical activity in the care of patients and their families within the mobile team, in close collaboration with multidisciplinary professionals and under medical supervision (direct supervision by a senior physician)

• You assume the administrative duties related to the position
• You participate in the on-call system of the Northern Vaud Psychiatry Centre.

Profile

• You hold a federal medical diploma or an equivalent foreign qualification recognised by MEBEKO
• You have at least two years of experience in psychiatry
• You are able to work in a multidisciplinary team
• You have a sense of responsibility
• You hold a driving licence and have a private vehicle (travel costs covered by the institution)
• You are proficient in French (minimum B2 level, certificate required for non-French-speaking doctors)
