The city of Aarau operates two nursing homes and a senior residence with contemporary infrastructure and customer-friendly services.

In the kitchen section of the nursing homes Herosé and Golatti, we offer an apprenticeship starting in August 2026.

The training to become a Cook/Chef EFZ lasts three years, while the training to become a Kitchen Assistant EBA lasts two years. During the training, the trainees work in the kitchen area of the nursing homes.

Vocational school classes are attended one day a week. During the three-year apprenticeship as a Cook/Chef EFZ, a total of 20 days of inter-company courses take place, while for the Kitchen Assistant EBA training, between 16 and 20 days are required.
