About the job
Diaconia
"The heaven that is coming already greets the earth that is, when love changes life" (Kurt Marti)
Diaconia is an essential characteristic and sign of the church. There is no church without diaconia. Diaconia is the practical and visible profile of the church. From its spiritual depth, it unfolds a solidarity that is wide-reaching. Diaconia is committed to others, with others, and through others (from the diaconia concept of the Zurich regional church). Diaconia sees itself as an expression of lived neighbourly love and a community of solidarity. It aims to empower people, convey hope, and encourage courage to find their way even in difficult life situations.
As social deacons in Stäfa and Hombrechtikon, we are active with people in various places. Together with those seeking advice, we look for ways to gain new perspectives and create concrete relief. We organise support, establish contacts and relationships in the village or neighbourhood, hold events, and especially visit older people. We have an open ear for people from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds.
