The Cantonal Tax Office is responsible for enforcing the provisions of federal, cantonal, and municipal taxes. It ensures the complete registration of all taxpayers, professional and customer-oriented tax assessment, and uniform tax collection.
The Management Support main department of the Cantonal Tax Office St.Gallen supports all organisational units in the office in fulfilling their tasks and provides the necessary infrastructure.

Team Leader IT (m/f/d)

What to expect
- You lead the six-member team both personally and professionally and actively shape a multi-year transformation phase
- You take on the deputy overall project management in the major IT Taxes SG+ project and ensure effective coordination between operations, specialist departments, application management, and project organisation
- You lead, coordinate, and manage demanding IT and digitalisation projects with high professional, organisational, and technical complexity
- You ensure stable, secure, and future-oriented IT operations and continuously develop specialist applications and basic infrastructures while complying with information security, data protection, and quality standards
- You are responsible for IT finance, contract, and supplier management – from budgeting and controlling to successful collaboration with internal and external partners
- You contribute your professional expertise to the further development and implementation of the IT strategy and work with specialist departments, management, and cantonal IT offices on the needs-based use of IT solutions and technologies
- You represent the organisation in cantonal specialist and steering committees, actively participate in cross-cutting projects, and promote a culture of responsibility, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement
What distinguishes you
- You have a completed degree (e.g., in business informatics, computer science, or business administration) or a comparable qualification
- You bring many years of professional and leadership experience and have successfully led complex projects with various stakeholders – knowledge of HERMES, agile methods, information security, and experience in the public administration environment are advantageous
- You have experience in transformation projects, IT governance, application management, supplier management, and dealing with steering committees
- You convince with pronounced analytical, conceptual, and strategic skills
- You work in a structured, reliable, and independent manner and keep an overview even in complex situations
- You are an empathetic and authentic leader and stand out through strong communication skills, service orientation, and teamwork
