About the job
Product Owner Web Platform (AEM)
The ETH Zurich web presence is the most important digital communication platform of our university and reaches millions of people worldwide every year. Behind this reach lies an extensive, multilingual, and decentralised web and CMS landscape. The University Communications department operates and develops this further based on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) together with the internal IT specialist unit and external service providers.
To strengthen our web team, we are looking for a technically skilled individual as Product Owner for the further development of our web platform.
Job Description
You will shape the roadmap as well as the technical and functional further development of our web platform. You prioritise the product backlogs based on strategic goals, user needs, and insights from analyses. You translate requirements into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria and coordinate their implementation in the Scrum process.
In doing so, you work closely with internal and external experts from development, design, communication, analytics, UX, and digital accessibility. You test and document CMS components, maintain the web manual, and ensure compliance with our quality standards. In addition, you coordinate release management, communicate appropriately to the target audience, and advise web managers across ETH Zurich on technical and conceptual questions.
Profile
- University degree in computer science, business informatics, media informatics, digital product management, a related field – or a comparable qualification
- At least 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner (or in a comparable role) for complex web platforms, ideally with practical knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
- Confidence in Scrum and handling Jira, including backlog maintenance, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Experience in functional testing and professional acceptance of CMS components in different system environments as well as in coordinating releases
- Good technical understanding of web architectures, interfaces, and deployment processes as well as basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Understanding of user-oriented, web-appropriate content and editorial processes as well as key quality requirements such as digital accessibility, data protection, information security, and web performance
- Strong communication skills in exchange with various stakeholders and external service providers as well as very good German and English skills
- Structured, precise, team- and solution-oriented working style with enthusiasm for consulting and collaboration
- A confident and responsible approach to generative AI
We offer
- A responsible and varied role with scope for design at the interface of communication and IT
- A committed, collegial, and helpful team in the exciting context of research and teaching
- An attractive workplace in the centre of Zurich
- Family-friendly working conditions
- Attractive offers and discounts as well as opportunities for further development
