BÜHLMANN Laboratories AG is an international manufacturing and trading company in the life sciences sector, headquartered in Schönenbuch, Basel-Landschaft canton. For 50 years, we have developed leading in-vitro diagnostic products (IVD) trusted by hospitals and private medical laboratories worldwide. We employ over 150 staff, 140 of whom are based in Schönenbuch. 

To strengthen our Supply Chain Management department, we are looking for a strong leadership and solution-oriented personality as:

Senior Logistics Specialist (m/f/d) 100%

In this position, you will take responsibility for the efficient organisation, control, and optimisation of all warehouse processes. You will ensure a smooth material flow – from goods receipt and inventory management through to assembly, picking, and timely dispatch. Additionally, you will lead and develop your team both professionally and organisationally and work closely with adjacent departments such as purchasing and production.

Your tasks – your opportunity

Organisation and control of warehouse operations

• Continuous analysis and optimisation of warehouse processes to increase efficiency
• Implementation of measures to reduce costs and simplify processes
• Coordination and monitoring of all warehouse processes (goods receipt, storage, assembly, picking, packaging, dispatch)
• Communication with suppliers and freight forwarders to clarify delivery times and complaints
• Ensuring efficient goods flow and optimal use of storage space
• Management and maintenance of inventory to avoid shortages or surpluses

Personnel management and team coordination

• Professional and organisational leadership of a team of employees
• Allocation and management of personnel according to workload and priorities
• Ensuring work quality and adherence to workflows

Goods receipt and storage

• Receipt and inspection of incoming goods for completeness and quality
• Booking of goods receipts in the inventory management system
• Proper storage considering storage strategies (FIFO, FEFO)
• Maintenance and control of inventory through regular stocktaking and inventory checks

Assembly, picking, packaging, dispatch

• Management of timely assembly of BÜHLMANN kits
• Management of timely picking of goods for customers or internal processes
• Ensuring correct packaging considering transport safety and efficiency
• Monitoring dispatch processing including documentation and coordination with freight forwarders
• Review and optimisation of processes to minimise errors and returns

Quality assurance and compliance with regulations

• Monitoring and compliance with safety, environmental, and quality guidelines
• Implementation and control of occupational safety measures
• Regular training of the team on safety and quality standards

Your profile – what you bring

• Completed training in logistics, warehouse management, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in warehousing, ideally in a leadership or coordinating role
• Knowledge of warehouse management and inventory systems
• Sound knowledge of warehouse processes
• Experience with various storage strategies
• Forklift licence and experience handling industrial trucks
• Basic knowledge of hazardous goods and occupational safety regulations
• Ability to plan and organise workflows and personnel deployment
• Organisational strength, sense of responsibility, and assertiveness
• Team spirit and a solution-oriented working style
• High reliability, responsibility, and initiative
• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form, English skills advantageous
• IT skills: confident use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), knowledge of warehouse management software or ERP systems desirable
