City Green Winterthur plans, maintains and manages the green and open spaces, the forest, the Bruderhaus wildlife park, the five cemeteries as well as the crematorium of the garden city Winterthur. Our services are central to the quality of the garden city Winterthur as a residential and business location.

Your Tasks

Create seasonal grave plantings and carry out the necessary maintenance work

Independently perform a variety of maintenance and upkeep tasks in the park-like cemetery facility (plants, meadows & lawn work, care of perennial beds & shrubs, plant use) and assist with urn and coffin burials.

Operate, handle and maintain machines and work equipment

Assist with general maintenance work and in the training of apprentices

Lead funeral congregations (assist accompanying persons)

Your Profile

Completed training as a gardener EFZ specialising in horticulture and maintenance

Cemetery experience, ideally completed further training as a cemetery specialist and several years of experience in garden maintenance as well as good plant knowledge, especially of native flora and seasonal plants

Driving licence category B as well as the professional examination for operating machines and technical understanding for working with machines

Good physical condition, mental balance, empathetic handling of mourners

Team player, enjoyment of the profession, high sense of responsibility, precise and careful work, service-oriented working method, German spoken and written
