Class and annual salary (including 13th month salary):
9 83,633.-- / 133,310.--
Tasks:
- offer guidance counselling to users who approach the service, either spontaneously or by mandate; adopt appropriate counselling methods, models and approaches based on psychological evidence, current and proven effective. Integrate the personal situation, life stage, biographical transitions and the cultural, social and educational context of the user into the counselling. Collaborate and communicate with all different interlocutors and partners
- establish a relationship of trust with users by creating and maintaining a solid work alliance focused on process and results. Use a person-centred, neutral, independent approach, compliant with the professional ethical standards and confidentiality principles
- select and use validated, effective and innovative diagnostic and working tools according to the user’s needs and situation, respecting efficiency principles
- monitor individually and continuously the situation of young people finishing compulsory school; collaborate and support during the decision-making phase
- prepare reports in case of mandates, in accordance with the provisions of collaboration agreements with partners
- design, implement and promote informational meetings and awareness-raising training on choices, career management or related to various topics linked to school, professional, university and career guidance
- participate in the development of internal innovation projects within the Office. Upon request of the management, take on mandates for commissions and working groups at cantonal, intercantonal and federal levels related to school, professional, university and career guidance. Other activities may be assigned depending on skills, interests, competences or service needs
- continuously update own skills and knowledge by attending, with management agreement, advanced and continuing education courses to maintain and improve the quality of professional practice; critically reflect on own specific competences and develop them
Requirements:
- counsellor diploma recognised by SEFRI. In absence of this: complete university degree (Bachelor and Master) in psychology. Candidates currently enrolled in SEFRI-recognised training leading to the counsellor diploma are also admitted
- direct and specific experience in the field of guidance in Switzerland, both with secondary school pupils and adolescent and adult users, is a clear advantage
- strong relational, organisational and adaptability skills
- excellent collaboration, mediation skills and predisposition for teamwork and networking
- initiative and autonomy in work, sense of responsibility and reliability
- good knowledge of the territory, economic and social reality of the Canton
- excellent knowledge of the Swiss education system and its peculiarities
- proficiency in Italian and basic knowledge of other official languages with proficiency in at least one of them (French or German)
- predisposition to public speaking and interacting with different age groups
- good knowledge of Windows operating system and MS Office package
Special remarks:
- place of service: Locarno
- start date: approximately 1 August 2026
- preference will be given to candidates who already hold the SEFRI-recognised Counsellor diploma
- candidates without the diploma must obtain it within 3 years of employment and the employment relationship will be regulated by mandate (art. 15 and 16 LORD)

Employment conditions:
- appointment or mandate: as provided by the Law on the Organisation of State Employees and Teachers of 15 March 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulation. Any changes in law concerning salary and organisation are explicitly reserved
- working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment rate), flexible or according to service needs
