Laser treatments
Most laser treatments are minimally painful and bloodless. The patient sits at the slit lamp, rests their chin on the support and leans their forehead against it. The treatment takes place in a normal examination room. Laser treatment is used for various medical conditions.
For diabetics
Diabetes leads to damage to the small blood vessels in the body over time, including in the retina. The vessels can become leaky, which inevitably leads to bleeding in the retina or fluid retention.
Laser treatment of the retina helps to reduce the formation of leaky vessels.
After cataract treatment
A few months or years after cataract surgery, opacities (fibroses) of the posterior lens capsule, i.e. behind the intraocular lens, can develop. This leads to a renewed reduction in vision. During the laser treatment, the laser beam is precisely targeted at the cloudy lens capsule to open it. After the procedure, the previous visual acuity is restored, provided there are no other eye diseases, as after cataract surgery.
Important information
The Vista Alpina Eye Clinic deliberately refrains from using lasers for the correction of refractive errors. Instead, the clinic relies on the comparatively more sustainable and qualitatively superior solution of lens implantations.
