Our client Helbling Technik AG is an internationally active engineering service provider that develops innovative products, systems and technical solutions for demanding customers. At the Zurich-Altstetten location, interdisciplinary engineering expertise, modern laboratory infrastructure and close customer proximity come together. We are looking for a broadly skilled developer personality on behalf of the client who is responsible for customer-specific test and testing systems from the initial idea to successful commissioning.

Development Engineer Electrical Engineering – Test Systems

You develop the test equipment – not just the tests.

The core of your task is the development of ever new test systems for different products and applications. You combine hardware and software, think systemically, take on technical responsibility and communicate confidently with customers and project partners.

Your challenge

• You develop customer-specific test and inspection systems – from simple devices to complex automated systems and special solutions in small quantities.
• You analyse product risks and quality assurance with the customer, create requirements and specifications, test specifications and system concepts, and translate product requirements into robust technical solutions.
• You develop system and software architectures and combine electrical engineering, electronics, measurement technology, sensor/actuator technology and software into a functioning overall solution.
• You coordinate specialists and suppliers, structure work packages and keep an eye on effort, deadlines and technical risks.
• You present concepts and solutions to the customer, moderate technical decisions and accompany the projects as a competent contact person until commissioning.

Your profile

You are a development engineer by conviction: you want to understand the whole system, move confidently between hardware and software and feel comfortable when not everything is defined at the beginning. You do not have to master every technology in detail – what matters is technical breadth, ability to learn and experience in bringing together different disciplines into a functioning solution.

• University degree (FH/ETH) in electrical engineering or a comparable field.
• Several years of development experience with complex electrical, mechatronic or automated systems; ideally experience with test systems, test automation, special machines or laboratory setups.
• Good understanding of electrical engineering, electronics and measurement technology as well as practical software experience; knowledge of C#, Python, LabVIEW/TestStand or comparable environments is welcome.
• Experience with requirements engineering, system architecture and structured development processes; knowledge of EMC, safety, standards or circuit diagrams is an advantage.
• Entrepreneurial thinking, personal responsibility and the ability to communicate complex technical contexts clearly.
• Confident manner and enjoyment in working with customers, interdisciplinary teams and external partners as well as very good German and English skills, both spoken and written.
