The Diagnostic Department , composed of eight medical services, is tasked with providing diagnoses, therapeutic products, therapeutic procedures, and specialised clinical consultations of high medical quality, within the best possible timeframes and at an acceptable cost, to guide patient care and contribute to therapeutic decisions and actions.
The Radiology Service primarily performs diagnostic radiology examinations and therapeutic interventions guided by various imaging techniques. This clinical activity includes approximately 220,000 examinations and 5,000 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per year, a significant portion of which is provided on a 24/7 basis. The medical team of the Radiology Service also organises more than 300 multidisciplinary meetings per month, on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule.
Job Description
The Radiology Service is seeking an assistant physician specialising in ENT and maxillofacial radiology to coordinate and develop clinical diagnostic and research activities in this field.
You will supervise the consultation activities and interpretation of examinations in the ENT and maxillofacial radiology unit and ensure the development of this unit, in close collaboration with the assistant physician responsible for the unit and according to the objectives set by them and the head of service.
You will ensure the smooth operation of the unit in terms of quality, timeliness of services, and supervision of staff.
You will participate in on-call and emergency duties in radiology, as designated by the head of service.
You will guarantee effective interfaces with other units and sectors of the emergency and radiology services, as well as other clinical services within the Geneva University Hospitals.
You will participate in pre- and post-graduate and continuing education in radiology.
You will oversee and contribute to the development of quality research within the unit in the field of ENT and maxillofacial radiology.
You will contribute to the development of collaborative projects in ENT and maxillofacial radiology with the Radiology Service, other services of the Diagnostic Department, and other departments of the Geneva University Hospitals.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma as well as an FMH specialist title in radiology or equivalent titles recognised in Switzerland. You hold a European diploma in ENT and maxillofacial subspecialty or an equivalent title (CIREOL or other desired).
If your diploma originates from a foreign country, you have obtained recognition from the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO) and your diploma is registered in the Medical Professions Register (MedReg).
You also hold a doctoral thesis.
You have an independent cantonal medical practice licence for Geneva.
You are proficient in French (spoken and written - C1 level essential) and possess excellent enumeration skills. For non-French-speaking applicants, C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
You have anticipated academic interests and possess very good experience collaborating in an academic environment.
You have recognised clinical experience in adult ENT and maxillofacial radiology and, if possible, paediatric radiology.
With excellent communication skills in multidisciplinary teams and with patients, you are a dynamic, flexible, and committed person. Moreover, you have demonstrated strong adaptability.
You have leadership qualities enabling you to supervise interns and senior residents and to support and motivate staff.
