Technical Employee Civil Engineering (100%)
Tasks- You are responsible for the maintenance, preservation of value, and expansion of roads, public lighting, civil engineering structures, public stops, and sewage systems. This also includes the technical and financial management and planning of these maintenance, preservation, and expansion projects.
- You lead small to medium construction projects and work closely with the client representation on larger projects.
- You coordinate collaboration with external partners (public transport, electricity suppliers, district heating, telecommunications) to maximise sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
- You provide professional advice to authorities, planners, as well as citizens.
Your tasks also include "paperwork":
- You prepare the budget as well as the financial and investment planning for your areas of responsibility and oversee invoice control.
- You implement legal requirements, write official reports, review applications, monitor third-party projects, and approve them.
- You participate in the Civil Engineering and Municipal Services Commission.
- You drive digitalisation in civil engineering forward: updating and utilising data for short- to medium-term planning.
- You support and act as deputy for the Technical Employee Civil Engineering responsible for water supply, as well as for the Civil Engineering and Municipal Services department head.
Expectations
- You have completed a technical basic education in civil engineering (e.g., road builder, foundation builder). Further training, for example as a civil engineering technician HF, construction foreman, or a comparable profession, would be an advantage.
- You bring several years of professional experience in municipal or private civil engineering, ideally in public administration. You are familiar with the relevant legal foundations in construction, road, and environmental law.
- You are experienced in project management and budget responsibility; an affinity for digitalisation in civil engineering (GIS, data-supported planning) is advantageous.
- Furthermore, we generally appreciate if you have an independent, solution-oriented, and structured working style, strong communication skills, and enjoy exchanging ideas with authorities, planners, citizens, and professional colleagues from other municipalities.
- Last but not least, you are a team player with a sense of responsibility and an eye for the bigger picture.
We offer
- A varied and responsible role with direct influence on the quality of life in the municipality of Ittigen.
- A small but collegial and committed team with short decision-making paths.
- Room for initiative – especially regarding digitalisation.
- Attractive employment conditions according to municipal personnel law.
- Support for further training and professional exchange.
- Excellent public transport connections and parking facilities on site.
- Diverse staff events and a appreciative working environment.
