About the job
Polymechanic ApprenticeshipThe apprenticeship lasts 4 years and leads to the federal certificate of competence CFC.
Theoretical training:
Courses are given at the Technical and Vocational School (EPTM) in Sion one or two days a week.
Practical training:
The first 2 years of your apprenticeship will take place at the workshop-school of the Intercantonal Professional School of Chemistry (EPIC) in Monthey. The last 2 years will take place in a company at CIMO, under the responsibility of a trainer.
The inter-company courses (CIE) take place at the Technical and Vocational School (EPTM) in Sion.
At the end of the first 2 years at the EPIC workshop-school where you will have become familiar with the basics of the profession, you will join one of the CIMO maintenance departments.
You will be required to service production installations. You will be asked to dismantle a pump, a valve, a compressor, to replace worn or defective parts and to reassemble them.
Your work will also consist of performing preventive maintenance in order to avoid a plant shutdown.
