Team Leader Reliability Engineering & Occupational Safety

At our location in Bern, we are looking for a Utilities team member within the Maintenance & Utilities department:

Team Leader Reliability Engineering and Occupational Safety (80%)

Your Tasks

• Technical and disciplinary leadership of a team of about 4 employees in the area of Reliability Engineering and Occupational Safety
• Responsibility for the documentation of all technical work as well as the systematic recording and evaluation of malfunctions
• Improvement of maintenance management, work planning, and spare parts inventory
• Preparation of presentations on operational problems according to global standards and development of practical, sustainable solutions (also in English)
• Conducting and monthly updating of a top-10 analysis of the most important technical malfunctions and weaknesses
• Definition, management, and control of subprojects for process and plant optimization as well as regular reporting to the utility management team
• Consistent implementation of all legal and operational requirements in the area of occupational safety (including Sibe function/safety officer)
• Moderation and motivation of the team for safety-conscious and efficient work
• Analysis of work accidents and near misses as well as development of preventive measures
• Participation in the selection and introduction of technical innovations and digital tools to increase plant reliability
• Close cooperation with other departments, especially maintenance, production, quality management, and occupational health and safety
• Participation in audits, safety inspections and inspections
• Training and raising awareness of the team on topics such as occupational safety, reliability, and continuous improvement (CIP)

Your Profile

• Completed technical vocational training or technical studies (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering) or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in an industrial environment, ideally in the utilities sector
• Experience in team leadership and project work
• Confident handling of MS Office, SAP, and experience with digital tools for analysis and documentation
• Analytical thinking, structured working method, and solution orientation
• High initiative, sense of responsibility and reliability
• Empathetic, motivating, and assertive leadership personality
• Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary teams
• Willingness to be on call duty
• Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
