About the job
Your new role
As a bus driver, you ensure daily that our passengers reach their destination safely, punctually, and comfortably. You represent VBSG to our passengers and contribute significantly to a positive customer experience with your professional and friendly manner.
Your main tasks include:
- safe, punctual, and customer-oriented operation of scheduled routes according to the timetable
- anticipatory, defensive, and economical driving style
- ensuring safe boarding and alighting of passengers
- friendly care of our passengers
- providing information about routes, timetables, connections, and fares
- informing passengers about delays, detours, or operational disruptions
- carrying out vehicle, safety, and functional checks before starting duty
This position is for you if
- you are already a bus driver:
- you hold a category D driving licence
- you have experience in passenger or scheduled transport
- you enjoy working with people and act in a customer-oriented manner
- you remain calm, friendly, and professional even in demanding situations
- or if you want to start with us as a career changer:
- you have held a category B driving licence for at least three years
- you enjoy driving and working with people
- you are willing to learn bus driving at our in-house driving school
- For both profiles:
- good German skills (at least level B1) and understanding of Swiss German
- responsibility and reliability
- willingness to work shifts seven days a week (approx. 04:20 to 01:45, including night buses on weekends and during events)
- service-oriented attitude and enjoyment of customer contact

- For this responsible role, in addition to the usual application documents, we require:
- a copy of the driving licence (front and back)
- a current IVZ register extract (Information System for Traffic Admission of the Federal Roads Office) => IVZ Register
- a current criminal record extract
- and for foreign nationals, a copy of the valid residence permit
- The extracts must not be older than three months at the time of application submission.
