Intern in the Field of Animal Husbandry & Dairy Farming
You will gain insights into the diverse advisory activities in animal husbandry and dairy farming as well as into experimental work. Through collaboration with our specialists, but also with agricultural enterprises, industry organisations and official bodies, you can expand your professional network with valuable contacts for your further career. You can also have this internship recognised as a professional internship at ETH Zurich.
Your tasks
- You support and accompany our specialists in animal husbandry in projects, consultations and the implementation of practice-oriented experiments (e.g. dry cow feeding, calf health monitoring, rooting areas for rearing piglets, health measures for sheep)
- You work in interdisciplinary projects with various specialist offices and organisations and contribute to the creation of important advisory and information materials for agricultural enterprises (e.g. leaflets on prophylactic dairy cattle feeding)
- You accompany specialist courses and online specialist evenings as well as the Strickhof Milk Day and Pig Day
Your profile
- You are in training or a recent graduate of HF, HAFL or ETH Zurich with a focus on livestock farming and already have practical experience in agriculture and livestock farming
- You enjoy working solution-oriented and independently with a structured approach
- You are interested in actively contributing to the optimisation of diverse operational and technical challenges in production agriculture
- A category B driving licence is an advantage
