About the job

Chemical Laboratory Technician
  • As a chemical laboratory technician, you play an essential role in conducting environmental analyses (water, air, and soil) as well as supporting production activities.
  • You work within modern and specialized laboratories of the service, serving both internal clients on site and external clients.
  • You actively contribute to the compliance and application of quality requirements defined by internal processes and current regulations (OPair, OEaux, OSites, OSol, OHyg, etc.).
  • Perform organic, inorganic, and physico-chemical analyses on various environmental matrices (water, air, soil, waste).
  • Participate in the transfer, validation, and optimization of analytical methods.
  • Contribute to quality control as well as calibration and maintenance of analytical equipment.
  • Diagnose analytical situations, formulate recommendations, and propose concrete improvement actions.
  • Participate in sampling activities and preparation of samples from various matrices (water, soil, etc.).
  • Actively collaborate in the daily management and smooth operation of the laboratory.
  • Ensure strict application of process quality criteria and compliance with environmental regulations according to current ordinances (OPair, OEaux, OSites, OSol, OHyg, etc.).
  • Assume other responsible tasks as needed by the service, while maintaining significant operational analytical activity.
  • Holder of a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a chemical laboratory technician or a technical training considered equivalent.
  • Professional experience in gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry.
  • Strong mastery of analytical techniques and physico-chemical methods.
  • Ability to work according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards; knowledge of ISO 17025 and GLP is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of Limsophy and common office tools (Word, Excel); proficiency in SAP is a plus.
  • Ability to manage projects independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • High adaptability, organizational skills, and ability to manage priorities.
