The University Psychiatric Clinics (UPK) Basel are one of the leading psychiatric clinics in Switzerland. Our goal is the continuous improvement of the treatment of our patients to achieve their best possible quality of life.

The Forensic Clinic (UPKF), as part of the University Psychiatric Clinics (UPK) Basel, includes both outpatient and inpatient treatment services and consists of the areas of adult forensics, youth forensics, and forensic psychology. In the area of adult forensics, there is a specialised inpatient and outpatient treatment offer for mentally ill people with a criminal background. The most common diagnostic groups include schizophrenia, personality disorders, and disorders of sexual preference. The core tasks of the department also include the preparation of forensic psychiatric reports. On behalf of the judicial authorities, primarily criminal reports (reports on criminal responsibility and prognosis) are prepared.

Your Tasks

• Inpatient psychodiagnostic and psychotherapeutic work (individual and group therapies) with case management tasks on one of our adult forensic wards, under close clinical supervision
• Patient-related collaboration in the multiprofessional treatment team
• Contact with relatives and authorities
• Documentation and reporting

Your Competences

• Master's degree in psychology as well as a started or firmly planned training in a recognised psychotherapeutic method
• Experience in the clinical-psychiatric/-psychological environment as well as in forensics is ideal but not a requirement
• Enjoyment and willingness to work in a multiprofessional team
• Organisational talent and a high level of commitment
• Team spirit, resilience, and flexibility
