About the job

Mediation work: You are responsible for positioning mediation, as well as planning, implementing and quality assurance of mediation concepts for different target groups. These are thematically aligned with planned exhibitions and the collection of the Kunstmuseum Basel. You develop innovative educational offers and are responsible for the continuation, new or further development of existing offers, as well as strengthening outreach and participatory offers with different communities.

Leadership: You are responsible for the professional, personnel and financial management of the Education & Mediation department including freelance staff.

Budget responsibility and fundraising: You are responsible for the department's budget and see third-party funding acquisition as an opportunity to position mediation even more prominently. Your tasks include active third-party funding acquisition for attractive and future-oriented offers of the Education & Mediation department and the preparation of fundraising dossiers.

Experience: You have several years of professional and leadership experience in art mediation or similar fields, possess basic art historical knowledge of all epochs and are familiar with the contemporary mediation discourse. Ideally, you have experience in international third-party funding acquisition from public institutions, foundations, companies and private individuals.

Personality: You are a creative, independent and solution-oriented personality with a passion for art and mediation. You have very high communication and social skills and experience in implementing participatory formats, as well as a pronounced understanding of the importance of inclusion, diversity and outreach and bring intercultural competences.

Flexibility, reliability, ability to work in a team and resilience complete your profile.

Education: You have a completed degree (Bachelor) in art mediation (Art Education), art pedagogy, cultural studies and art didactics or similar fields.

Language: You have very good language skills in German, English and French.
