About the job
The role operates as a career-competent regulatory reporting analyst within the CFO function, with a solid understanding of prudential regulation and reporting processes, and primary accountability for the accurate and timely completion of assigned Swiss and international regulatory returns (e.g. Capital Adequacy, LCR, NSFR, statistical reports).
The role works independently across the full reporting cycle for its scope, seeking guidance from more senior colleagues on complex or ambiguous issues, and adapts existing methods to non-standard situations to maintain data quality and compliance. It interacts frequently with colleagues in Accounting, Risk, Treasury, Front Office, IT and upstream data providers to clarify requirements, resolve data issues and explain regulatory impacts on their activities, enhancing relationships and building trust. The role contributes to short- to medium-term departmental objectives by implementing process improvements, supporting change initiatives and leading smaller projects or sub-workstreams that improve the sustainability and audit-readiness of regulatory reporting. The role does not hold formal budget ownership but supports resource planning and prioritisation for its projects and deliverables.
Main duties & responsibilities
Regulatory Production & Ownership
- Develops and delivers the end-to-end production of assigned Swiss and international regulatory returns (e.g. Capital Adequacy, LCR, NSFR, statistical reports), ensuring complete and accurate submissions within regulatory deadlines.
- Implements and maintains the operational schedule for own reporting scope, identifying required inputs and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to meet concurrent monthly and quarterly deadlines.
- Ensures that processes and documentation for assigned reports remain sustainable and audit-ready, and identifies opportunities to streamline steps in line with the department’s medium-term automation and operational excellence goals.
Regulatory Interpretation & Complex Analysis
- Analyses complex financial structures (e.g. derivatives, structured products) within own reporting perimeter to determine the correct regulatory treatment, and escalates particularly ambiguous cases to more senior specialists where needed.
- Develops and applies robust proxy logic or manual workarounds for data gaps in defined areas, balancing regulatory expectations and operational constraints, and documents these approaches for review and approval.
- Evaluates variances and trends in capital and liquidity metrics for assigned reports, and prepares clear explanations of the drivers behind fluctuations for senior stakeholders in Risk, Treasury and CFO management.
Change Management & Implementation
- Monitors upcoming regulatory changes (e.g. FINMA ordinances, EBA guidelines) relevant to own reporting scope, and evaluates their impact on data, systems and processes, providing input into adaptation plans.
- Implements smaller regulatory or IT changes within the reporting area, or leads sub-workstreams in larger automation projects, by defining business requirements for tools such as Mercury and OneSumX and supporting testing activities.
- Negotiates with IT and upstream data providers on specific data requirements and timelines for own deliverables, ensuring that regulatory needs are understood and appropriately prioritised.
Advisory & Collaboration
- Advises colleagues in Accounting, Risk, Front Office and other functions on the regulatory implications of their activities within the scope of assigned reports, and persuades them to adopt necessary data quality and booking standards.
- Provides technical guidance and support to junior analysts in the Regulatory Reporting team on defined topics, reviewing their work for accuracy and helping them navigate complex reporting scenarios.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with senior internal colleagues across the CFO function and with external vendors where relevant, adapting communication style to different audiences.
