The Crans-Montana Clinic, nestled in the heart of the Valais Alps, is a hospital site of HUG. Its hospital missions consist of caring for patients for rehabilitation in general internal and psychosomatic medicine, polyvalent post-operative or post-hospitalization rehabilitation in an acute setting. The Crans-Montana Clinic holds FMH recognition for general internal medicine and trains internal medicine doctors. It develops academic research projects in connection with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva.
Job description
At the Crans-Montana Clinic, the kitchen team prepares an average of 180 meals per day for all patients and staff, as well as a small catering offer available at the cafeteria. This service's mission is to provide a balanced and varied diet meeting Swiss nutritional requirements, cooked in compliance with current hygiene rules. It is labeled "Let's Cook Our Region" and "Green Fork" and thus produces balanced meals, favoring fresh local products.
As an apprentice cook, you will be involved in preparing dishes and culinary specialties for all our patients and clients, respecting specific diets.
The variety of services provided and the demands of the hospital environment allow for a varied and comprehensive training path, with rotations through different kitchen stations. To complement your training, we offer internal and external internships within the institution that allow you to discover other products, types of catering, and working methods.
Through the apprenticeship, you will learn cooking and production methods, food preparation, hygiene and safety rules, and acquire the basics related to kitchen organization and management, in accordance with the requirements of your training curriculum.

You have successfully completed your compulsory schooling.
Friendly, you enjoy teamwork and communicate easily with your interlocutors.
You have a strong interest in cooking and discovering different sectors of catering.
Creativity is one of your qualities.
You are interested in the hospital environment and are ready to commit to a professional training alternating work in a company, practical courses, and theoretical courses at school.
