Senior Java Engineer - Focus: Agentic AI

As a Senior Agentic Engineer you design, implement and operate agents in ongoing customer projects and actively shape best practices and methodology.

Your task

• You take on the role of Human Supervisor in agentic projects and manage, review and validate the output of AI agents according to ELCA quality standards
• You use AI development tools (such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and ELCAi-Method) purposefully, thereby increasing productivity and code quality in enterprise projects
• You design and maintain agentic architectures and system prompt structures for multi-agent workflows along the entire development chain (from analyst to QA)
• You develop stable, high-performance Java/Angular solutions in close collaboration with AI agents and ensure ELCA coding guidelines and CI/CD standards
• You coach and empower less experienced colleagues in getting started with agentic engineering and help to anchor and further develop the know-how within the team
• You actively contribute to the further development of the ELCAi-Method and the internal agentic engineering best practices
• With your expertise, you support the acquisition of new agentic projects and convince customers of the performance of our approach

Your profile

• Completed degree (UNI/ETH/FH) in computer science or related field
• 5+ years experience in developing modern Java applications (Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, Angular or comparable) with the ambition to take responsibility for architectural decisions and not just implement them
• Proven practical experience with AI-supported development (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or comparable tools) in real projects
• You evaluate AI-generated output with your technical expertise: you utilise the strengths of the agents but also recognise limitations and enforce quality standards
• Experience in mentoring and supporting team members
• Fluent in German and English both spoken and written
• Knowledge of BMAD method, SpecKit or structured agentic engineering frameworks is a great plus and a sign that we have a suitable environment for you
