Convinced that "everyone can make a difference," the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG) have founded an Innovation Center with the aim of improving and evolving the hospital.
A unique platform for exchanges, the Center promotes collective intelligence by bringing together, enhancing, and realizing the best ideas from the staff. Both a center of expertise and a collaborative workspace, the HUG Innovation Center (CI) offers a range of services to evaluate, support, mature, promote, and valorize innovative ideas and projects from HUG staff and structures. As a laboratory for experimentation, a catalyst for change and participatory approaches, the Innovation Center offers various ideal spaces for collaborative workshops or events.
Since 2019, it has supported the development of the HUG strategic plan: Vision 20+5. A pioneer at the European level in the hospital sector, the Innovation Center has evolved the intrapreneurship model by forging close links with the Patients Partners (PP) project. This close collaboration with the PP platform has yielded effects and benefits in developing solutions close to patient needs.
Each year, about 800 people participate in the Innovation Center's events, conferences, and workshops. More than 60 innovative projects have been catalyzed.
Job Description
You are an innovation catalyst within the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG), a reference for research valorization and intellectual property. You provide expertise on the protection and valorization of innovations arising from clinical and scientific research.
You create favorable conditions for the emergence and structuring of innovative projects by coordinating valorization processes and fostering a collaborative dynamic between researchers, healthcare staff, support services, and external partners. You support project leaders throughout the maturation process and direct them to the appropriate contacts.
You ensure the coherence of valorization processes, handle the administrative follow-up of files, and report to the governing bodies. You promote internal synergies, contribute to structuring processes, and raise team awareness of intellectual property issues.
You conduct scouting activities to identify high-potential projects, support the drafting of funding applications, and participate in developing partnerships related to research and innovation. You also contribute to the valorization of nursing expertise.
As a committed actor in the culture of innovation, you organize and lead flagship events (Innovation Day, Innovation Cafés, collaborative workshops) and participate in creating communication materials. You represent the Innovation Center within the Lake Geneva network and beyond, promoting projects led by teams.
You ensure recognition of innovative initiatives, document implemented processes, and organize feedback sessions to capitalize on learnings. You also contribute to daily organization: reporting, project and budget tracking, preparation of committees and meetings.
Qualifications
You hold a Master’s degree and have solid experience in technology transfer, as well as a good command of intellectual property. Your background includes a similar role and a strong interest in health innovation and scientific research. You have proven skills in project management, facilitating collaborative workshops, and using innovation tools.
Adaptable in a constantly evolving environment, you demonstrate rigor, organization, and a keen eye for detail. You communicate clearly about the progress of your activities and know how to explore new areas thanks to your curiosity and learning ability.
You manage exceptional situations effectively, remain calm under pressure, and handle stress well. Autonomous, proactive, and with excellent prioritization skills, you maintain constructive relationships with internal and external partners, adopting a solution-oriented approach.
Your diplomacy, listening skills, and interpersonal ease foster harmonious teamwork. You have excellent written and spoken French, as well as professional English. You possess good analytical and synthesis skills and excellent proficiency in office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Organization, dynamism, creativity, rigor, autonomy, and good humor are essential assets for success in this position. Any additional skills are appreciated.
