Company Description
At the Office for Environmental Protection of the Liechtenstein National Administration, the tasks of classic environmental enforcement as well as central environmental policy future topics are bundled. These include in particular the areas of water, waste, chemicals, noise, air and climate. We are responsible for protection, monitoring, approval, control and advice as well as for the implementation of legal requirements in the environmental sector. In addition, we manage the agendas of international environmental and climate policy.
Job Description
You feel at home in the following areas of activity:
- Enforcement and further development of climate-relevant legislation
- Preparation of the national greenhouse gas inventory
- Monitoring and further development of the climate and adaptation strategy in cooperation with municipalities, the economy and associations
- Design, support and implementation of projects in the areas of climate protection and climate adaptation
- Representation of Liechtenstein in international committees, organisations and conferences
- Ensuring national reporting obligations to international organisations, especially within the framework of the United Nations
Qualifications
You are particularly characterised for this position by:
- University degree (university or university of applied sciences), preferably in environmental, natural, legal, economic or political sciences, international relations or a related field
- Several years of professional experience, ideally in the environmental, climate or international context
- Knowledge of international law as well as experience in cooperation with international organisations is an advantage
- Strong communication skills and confident German as well as English to convey complex issues appropriately to the target audience
- Strategic, conceptual and networked thinking
- Willingness to travel internationally for work
- High interest in environmental and climate policy issues as well as enjoyment of continuous professional development
- Commitment to actively shaping and further developing climate and environmental protection in Liechtenstein
