About the job
We are among the leading online shops in Switzerland in both B2C and B2B – a nearly unique combination in Europe. Behind this is one of the most modern logistics systems on the continent: highly automated, scalable, and with further expansion potential. With us, you will find plenty of room for creativity in an environment shaped by ambition, personal responsibility, and passion. We celebrate successes and learn from mistakes. We value direct, honest feedback because we all want to keep learning. This creates a culture of trust, knowledge exchange, and the courage to really push things forward.
Team Lead Software Engineering – Sourcing & Purchasing
What to expect
With us, you don’t just develop software, but also bring your personality into play, actively develop the department, and shape the e-commerce of tomorrow. Our systems in the area of Sourcing & Purchasing form a central foundation for purchasing, assortment, and availability. As a hands-on team lead, you will be part of a cross-functional product team with a Product Manager and four engineers. Together, you share responsibility and develop scalable solutions for our procurement processes using Java and Spring Boot.
- You lead, coach, and further develop your team, focusing on personal responsibility, quality, and continuous learning
- You work hands-on, from the initial idea through architecture and solution design to productive operation, shaping modular architectures and interfaces with approaches such as Domain-Driven Design and Self-Contained Systems
- You bring curiosity, team spirit, and willingness to learn, shaping not only implementation but also architecture, quality, and the question of what should actually be built
- You work in variations of Scrum or Kanban. Engineers also roll up their sleeves during refinement and actively contribute to architecture and product questions
- You can expect plenty of creative freedom and the chance to shape the culture within the team and make an impact beyond team boundaries
- At the same time, there is enough legacy, complexity, and established structures to really make a difference with resilience and a clear view, improving systems step by step
What you bring
We match if you
- have at least five years of experience in software development and at least one year of experience in a technical or personnel leadership role, ideally in cross-functional product teams in e-commerce or similar domains
- have solid knowledge of Java and Spring Boot or a comparable language (e.g. C#, Kotlin), are willing to work in the Java environment, have experience with SQL and data modelling, and regularly release with CI/CD following the "You build it, you own it" principle
- are familiar with modular software architecture, interface design, and asynchronous data processing
- see yourself as a servant leader, develop employees purposefully, and have effectively established concepts such as psychological safety, OKRs, and an open feedback culture in practice
- work closely with Product Managers, really want to understand problems, and think from the user and business perspective
- use AI-supported software development (e.g. coding agents like Claude Code) and want to further develop it within the team
- ideally have good German language skills
We probably don’t fit well together if you
- prefer frameworks like SAFe or projects that start with a requirements specification
- have mainly worked in highly regulated areas; without experience in a fast-paced, product-oriented environment with distributed systems
- feel more comfortable with role models where infrastructure, backend, frontend, testing, and product thinking are clearly separated
- take over requirements fully formulated instead of sharpening them together with product management and really understanding customers
- see further training mainly as the employer’s responsibility and do not learn further out of your own interest, whether "on the job", outside at an evening event, or simply by reading a book
- are more frustrated than motivated by imperfect systems – spoiler: we’re not there yet
- strictly separate work and good humour
