The Bern Regional Prison is seeking immediately or by arrangement a strong, empathetic, and highly organised individual for the overall management of our catering department.

Your tasks

• Kitchen management: Independent organisation and economical leadership of the entire catering area
• Culinary art: Responsibility for a balanced, high-quality, and regional cuisine
• Work education: Guidance, promotion, and training of assigned persons in daily kitchen operations
• Management: Duty planning, inventory management, budget control, and HACCP hygiene

Your profile

• Professional competence: Federal Diploma Head Chef with several years of leadership experience as head chef and knowledge of the cook and chill process
• Education: Experience or training in work education is an advantage (apprenticeship training, etc.)
• Soft skills: Confident leadership personality with strong assertiveness and tact, pronounced willingness to shape, as well as joy in innovation and process optimisation, high resilience, ability to work under pressure, absolute discretion, strong self-motivation, and excellent communication skills
• Languages: Very good German and good spoken French skills (mandatory)
• Minimum age 28 years

About the Office of Justice Enforcement

The Office of Justice Enforcement (AJV) employs around 1000 staff within the Security Directorate of the Canton of Bern (SID) and is responsible for open and closed penal and measure enforcement for adults and juveniles. To fulfil this task, the office has four concordat justice enforcement institutions, four regional prisons, the surveillance station at Inselspital, the detention control centre, as well as probation and enforcement services at its disposal.
