At the Directorate for Education, Social Affairs and Sport, the person is at the centre. The daycare is a voluntary family-supporting care service for school children in the city of Bern.

What you will achieve

• Overall responsibility for kitchen operations, menu planning and purchasing
• Responsibility and leadership of a kitchen team of 4 to 5 people, including one apprentice, in cooperation with the person responsible for education
• Preparation of child-appropriate, healthy lunches (approx. 400 per day) for children and young people aged between 6 and 16 years
• Close cooperation with the catering department, implementation in operations
• Compliance with legal hygiene regulations

What you bring

• Training as a cook with a federal vocational certificate (EFZ), ideally further training as a head chef EFA
• Professional experience and knowledge in child-appropriate nutrition, enjoyment of contact with children and young people
• Good written and spoken German skills (B2)
• Process-oriented working style and sound IT skills
