First Assistant in Gender Studies
Position Information
Start date: 1 October 2026
Contract duration: 1 year, renewable + 2 years, maximum 5 years
Work rate: 80%
Workplace: Lausanne-Dorigny Salary: CHF 66,528.- ( increasing each year )
Your Activities
- 50% of the work rate will be dedicated to carrying out personal research work (valorisation of the thesis, publications, contributions to conferences, project development, etc.).
- 50% of the work rate will be devoted to supporting teaching tasks, organising and leading the scientific activities of the Gender Studies Centre, notably coordinating the summer school in gender studies (BRULAU).

Your Profile
We wish to recruit a person with the following profile:
- PhD in social sciences or equivalent degree;
- Research in the field of gender studies, specialising in trans studies and/or LGBTQI+ studies;
- Experience in teaching and academic research in gender studies; ability to supervise young researchers;
- Having developed a gender perspective in their work and publications and pursuing a research agenda in this field of study;
- Proficiency in English and French;
- Experience and interest in organising and leading events and coordinating scientific collectives;
- Institutional and/or international mobility is an asset.
