About us

Longstreet has stood for nightlife, music, encounters and urban culture on Zurich's Langstrasse for 21 years. A new era begins in November: more electronic music, a diverse audience and a refreshed bar with cocktails. As Bar Manager, you lead our bar and club evenings across two floors, represent the managing director on site and act as the link between management and the Art Director. We are looking for a committed, well-connected personality who actively shapes the new direction.

Your tasks

You prepare the bar, terrace and forecourt and ensure the mise en place so that everything is ready by the 8:00 pm opening.

You organise the team and brief them before opening.

You manage operations on both floors and lead bar staff, security, selection, runners and cloakroom on site.

You actively work behind the bar yourself and keep an overview of the entire bar operation.

You are a host: you welcome and look after guests, DJs and organisers.

You check supplies and place orders if necessary.

You pay DJs and other participants, handle the accounting and close the venue as the key holder.

You report to management after each evening and participate in the weekly leadership meeting.

You motivate your team, monitor quality and costs, and develop internal processes together with the management team.

You actively contribute to the bar's new direction and maintain your network in nightlife, music and culture.

Your profile

You are at least 21 years old (we are a 21+ venue).

You have several years of bar experience and enjoy mixing drinks and cocktails.

You know club and bar gastronomy, enjoy nightlife yourself and like to exchange ideas about music and events across all scenes.

You have a good network in the Zurich or Swiss music, event or cultural scene.

You are open, feel at home in different worlds and look forward to a diverse audience and a wide variety of music.

You are up to date, creative and well organised, bring your own ideas and proactively get involved with enthusiasm.

You have leadership experience or are willing to take on leadership responsibility and think economically.

You speak very good German and good English.

You have good people skills, quickly read rooms and situations and react spontaneously and confidently, even when it gets hectic.

You communicate calmly and appreciatively and ensure a harmonious atmosphere within the team and with guests.

You also enjoy being in front of the camera for our social media channels.

You are willing to work on public holidays and special events and have a valid work permit for Switzerland.
