The Controlling department plays a central role within the University Psychiatric Centre (UPZ) Bern and is responsible for the financial management and support of the clinics and directorates. For our dynamic and committed team, we are looking for an analytically minded individual who enjoys recognising financial interrelations, further developing processes, and actively shaping economic management. In this versatile role, you will participate in periodic closings as well as budget and financial planning, create meaningful reports, and analyse business management key figures. You will advise the clinics and directorates on financial matters, identify optimisation potentials, and prepare well-founded decision-making bases. In doing so, you make an important contribution to ensuring economic efficiency and the further development of controlling at the UPZ.

Your tasks

• You are jointly responsible for the timely execution of periodic closings, including the necessary accrual bookings
• You create and update internal and external reports, projections, forecasts, and statistics and support the analysis and interpretation of the results
• You support the clinics and directorates in financial management and advise them on business management issues
• You actively participate in the budgeting and planning process and ensure its timely execution according to the management's specifications
• You conduct systematic evaluations of cost centre and cost unit accounting and support the identification of optimisation potentials in UPZ processes and services
• You contribute to compliance with legal and internal requirements as well as applicable accounting standards
• You contribute to the further development of controlling and support establishing it as an effective management and control instrument to ensure economic efficiency
• You work on projects and actively bring in your business management expertise

Your profile

• You have a higher business management education (e.g. university of applied sciences or university), ideally with a focus on controlling or finance
• You bring several years of experience in controlling or finance – preferably in healthcare, but this is not mandatory
• You are proficient in using controlling tools as well as relevant legal regulations
• You have strong skills in analysing and evaluating large data sets and confidently apply suitable statistical methods and tools for data processing and interpretation
• Your analytical thinking and ability distinguish you in explaining complex matters clearly
• You work in a structured manner, have a high degree of initiative, and are a team player
