The Cantonal Police of St. Gallen ensures peace, security, and

order in the canton of St. Gallen around the clock. They investigate crimes and monitor compliance with applicable laws.

The Criminal Service is responsible for the basic criminal police services and the corresponding investigations in the city of St. Gallen.

Workload: 80-100%

Workplace: 9001 St. Gallen

What to expect

• Responding to incidents and initiating immediate measures
• Processing all criminal offenses and receiving reports, primarily in the area of the Penal Code, in the city of St. Gallen
• Search and investigative tasks, particularly in the areas of crimes against life and limb, robbery and property offenses, cybercrimes, and drug offenses
• Collaboration with other police departments and authorities to clarify crimes
• Analysis of data and information to identify suspects and recognize connections
• Preparation of search and investigation files as well as reports
• Working in shift operations in a new work model with partial on-call duty at home

What distinguishes you

• Federal professional certificate as a police officer
• Proven police knowledge in basic services and/or experience in criminal police work
• Knowledge in the application of police information systems and databases
• Good communication skills and teamwork ability
• Initiative, reliability, and sense of responsibility
• Willingness to participate in further training and education
