Equivalence of SRK Nursing Assistants with Basic Nursing Knowledge
Do you have foreign training in basic nursing or many years of nursing professional experience in Switzerland? With the equivalence procedure, we check whether your skills are equivalent to the SRK Nursing Assistant course.
Who is the equivalence procedure for SRK Nursing Assistants?
Persons with a foreign certificate in basic nursing of at least 120 hours of theoretical training and additional practical experience.
Persons with an interrupted Swiss or foreign training in the field of basic nursing.
Persons who have worked at least five years at 60% in the nursing sector in an institution in Switzerland. This includes professional experience in nursing homes, retirement homes, or hospitals. And if they can prove further training.

How do I proceed?

Equivalence decision
As soon as you have submitted your application completely in our online portal, we will review your application. You will receive the decision within a maximum of two months.
There are three different decisions:

The procedure can only continue once the invoice has been paid. You will receive the invoice with the decision.
How long does it take?
As soon as we have received your application with the complete documents, we need a maximum of two months for processing.
How much does it cost?
Cost of direct equivalence:
250 Swiss francs
Cost of indirect equivalence:
If you have to complete an internship, the equivalence costs 500 Swiss francs. You will receive two partial invoices from us of 250 Swiss francs each.
What language skills do I need?
When practicing a profession in healthcare, sufficient language skills are essential. To ensure patient safety, a language certificate at level B1 in German, French, or Italian is required for equivalence as an SRK Nursing Assistant.
If you completed your training in one of these languages, no language certificate is necessary.
