INSPIRE ROOMS - MANAGEMENT TRAINING 18 months M/F – Spring 2027

As an Inspire Rooms participant at Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, you will develop in-depth expertise in various aspects of the Rooms Division, discovering diverse sectors such as Housekeeping, Front Office, Night Audit & Guest Relation / Duty.
You will take on responsibilities as a Supervisor, allowing you to acquire valuable skills in team management, organisation and exceptional service. This programme is a true gateway to develop your talents and become an integral part of creating unique and special memories for our guests.

General Responsibilities:
- Consistently provide professional, friendly and engaging service
- Lead by example and apply LQA technical and emotional standards
- Commit to the quality of your service, discretion and absolute honesty
- Strictly adhere to hygiene and health regulations
- Respect ergonomic work standards in accordance with health and safety rules
- Comply with department policies, procedures and service standards
- Observe all safety policies
- Perform any other assigned tasks
Specific Housekeeping Responsibilities:
- Inspect rooms according to hotel standards
- Coordinate guest activities and requests
- Coordinate reception requests and priorities
- Coordinate room statuses with reception
- Inspect floors, offices, storage and equipment
- Control and supervise arrivals, VIP turndown in coordination with floor housekeepers
- Act as liaison between room staff and management
- Actively participate in total quality management development, including improvement proposals
- Communicate necessary information to superiors for smooth department operation
- Sign the instruction book and meeting report after reading
- Always be aware of team progress
- Inform floor staff of corrective actions when inspections reveal deviations from standards
- Supervise, note in the instruction book and participate in room relocations
Specific Front Office Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and handle their arrivals and departures according to chain standards
- Manage guest issues and respond quickly, record and notify appropriate departments
- Promote hotel sales points (restaurants, bars and Spa)
- Assist guests with hotel facilities in an informative and helpful manner
- Assign rooms according to guest preferences (profile)
- Ensure promotion of the loyalty programme
- Follow up on complaints
- Lead by example and apply LQA technical and emotional standards
- Offer additional equipment and services
- Internal communication: create sparkles
Specific Night Auditor Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and handle their requests during the night
- Manage guest telephone calls
- Make reservations
- Manage the telephone switchboard and fire emergency centre
- Apply and master safety rules during critical situations: think and stay calm, alert as soon as possible – observe to provide as many details as possible during testimony – protect the scene until police arrival
- Ensure guest wake-up calls
- Conduct hotel security rounds
- Open and close access points and turn lights on in the hotel
- Create guest files upon arrival
- Perform guest billing based on information from various sales points
- Prepare daily statistical and accounting reports
- Transmit necessary elements to accounting for invoice dispatch
- Provide In Room Dining and HSKP service at night
- Handle various guest requests (technical, additional items, etc.)
- Drive and park guest cars according to standards
- Manage cash and other currency exchange operations
- Perform day-end closing operations and verify accuracy
Specific Guest Relations & Duty Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and respond to FO requests
- Manage guest issues and respond quickly, record and notify appropriate FO departments
- Perform Front Office tasks and some Night tasks
- Inspect VIP rooms with technical control, follow up on amenities and specific requests
- Announce VIP arrivals internally
- Assist guests with hotel facilities in an informative and helpful manner
- Cover some evening and weekend Duty shifts according to schedule
- Communicate incidents involving guests and staff and actions taken
- Inspect premises (front, back and exterior) and address cleanliness, lighting, music, security, grooming, standards
- Represent and manage the ALL loyalty programme
- Prepare a bi-monthly newsletter
- Update information in profile notes & profiles +
- Supervise front office and lodge tasks
- Manage staff situations (attitude, grooming, conflict)
- Participate in Front Office and Concierge staff training
- Be trained in first aid
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a recognised hotel school or university within the last two years
- Minimum 1 year experience in the "Rooms" field
- Minimum 6 months supervisory experience
- Experience in a 4* or 5* hotel is an asset
- Fluent spoken and written French and English
- Valid driving licence in Switzerland
- Flexibility, adaptability and stress resistance

VISA REQUIREMENTS
To work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
