Operations Team Leader 100%Welcome to the fascinating world of taxes! The cantonal tax office, together with the municipal tax offices, collects taxes for the federal government, the canton, and the municipalities. We support private individuals and companies throughout the entire tax collection process. Around 800 qualified employees are committed to this at the location in Zurich Altstetten.

Then you are in the right place with us. In this role, you and your team ensure the reliable operation of IT for Zurich’s tax system across several data centres. You lead the team both professionally and personally and actively shape the further development of our operational landscape. Together, we create the technological foundation for a modern tax system. Due to a retirement, we are looking for an experienced IT leader to strengthen our team.
Your tasks
- You lead a dedicated operations team.
- You ensure stability and further development of our specialised applications – depending on the situation as operations manager, technical sparring partner, coordinator, or generalist with an overview.
- You build bridges: between technology and business, between people and processes.
- You drive innovation forward and create structures that work.
- You are ready to take responsibility for the stable operation of the specialised applications – today and in the long term.
- You transfer the current operation of your own data centre into the canton’s central data centres.
Your profile
- Completed higher education in computer science or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of experience in application operations as well as enjoyment of leadership and team management.
- Strong communication skills, organisational talent, and enjoyment in developing others.
- You think in solutions, not problems.
- Solid knowledge in handling multiple platform technologies rounds off your profile.
- Certifications such as ITIL, HERMES, TOGAF, SAFe, or Scrum are advantageous.
