About the job
Do you want to actively shape Green's future?
At Green, we are building the pillars of the digital future in Switzerland. We stand for pioneering spirit, innovation with foresight, and strong partnerships – for our employees and our customers. We create solutions and services for private and corporate clients as well as large international cloud providers. With three locations, two hyperscale campus sites, and several data centres in the greater Zurich area, good networking, and a cloud ecosystem of well-known partners, we have the necessary infrastructure to achieve great things.
Your area of responsibility
You are the technical operations expert for our data centre-proximate (OT) and data-centric applications. While your colleagues (business software profile) take care of ERP and CRM, your focus is on the high-availability operation of our SCADA systems and data centre-proximate services.
Your main task is the modernisation and automation of this operation: You migrate classic application landscapes into containerised environments (Docker/Kubernetes), build CI/CD pipelines, and ensure a scalable, stable, and maintainable architecture in the Linux environment through "Infrastructure as Code".
- You assess existing OT and data centre applications regarding their containerisability and plan and accompany their migration into modern container environments.
- You build container platforms, operate and optimise them, and ensure their stable and secure operation.
- You design and implement CI/CD pipelines and automate build, test, and deployment processes. Together with the infrastructure team, you further develop our infrastructure-as-code approaches and automate the provisioning and configuration of our infrastructure.
- You ensure the stable and highly available operation of SCADA systems and data centre-proximate services based on Linux.
- You monitor systems, data flows, and interfaces between OT and IT environments and ensure their reliable interaction.
- In 2nd and 3rd level support, you analyse and resolve complex technical faults and conduct performance and root-cause analyses at the Linux and container level.
- When commissioning new plants, systems, and protocols, you work closely with automation technology and production IT.
- You actively shape our processes around incident, change, and problem management and further develop automation and self-healing approaches. You build professional monitoring and logging solutions, develop them further, and ensure transparency regarding the availability and performance of our systems.
- You create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks, supporting sustainable and efficient operations.
Your skills
- You have completed training in computer science, technical computer science, system technology, or a comparable qualification.
- You have a good understanding of the administration, security, and network configuration of Linux systems, ideally in the AlmaLinux environment.
- You have practical experience with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration solutions like Kubernetes or comparable platforms. CI/CD, Git, and automated deployment processes are part of a modern IT landscape for you, and you have already gained practical experience with them.
- You bring experience with Infrastructure as Code and tools like Ansible or Terraform. Ideally, you have initial experience with SCADA or OT systems, industrial protocols such as Modbus, MQTT, BACnet, or OPC-UA, as well as production-proximate databases.
- You understand the special requirements and the necessary separation and secure networking of IT and OT environments. Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack is an advantage.
- You enjoy getting to the bottom of technical problems and convince with an analytical, structured, and solution-oriented working style.
- You bring initiative and a desire to shape things and want not only to operate processes but to sustainably improve them through automation.
- You can clearly convey complex technical contexts and communicate confidently with different stakeholders from IT and OT.
- You have very good German skills as well as good English skills in spoken and written form.
Our offer
