The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. The federal collection point for radioactive waste from medicine, industry, and research is operated by PSI. To strengthen our Documentation and Approvals group within the Radiation Protection and Safety department, we are looking for a
Your tasks
Would you like to be trained as a specialist for concepts on the disposal of radioactive waste at PSI, or are you already one?
Are you interested in leading and coordinating interdisciplinary and long-term projects for the federal collection point?
Do you enjoy acquiring additional knowledge and are enthusiastic about preparing complex reports?
Do you take pleasure in working with databases and large data sets (SQL)?
Do you like presenting your results at expert discussions with the supervisory authority and at conferences?
Then you are the right person for us!
After an appropriate induction period and various training sessions, you will be responsible for developing concepts and specifications for the disposal of radioactive waste as well as the associated approval process with the authority. You will also be responsible for project management and communication with individual waste suppliers. Your tasks also include creating process descriptions within the quality management system and monitoring national and international developments in your field of work as well as current specialist literature.
Your profile
- You have a completed university degree in a scientific field (a doctorate is an advantage).
- You possess expertise, for example, in the fields of radiochemistry, waste management, materials science, or radiation protection.
- You have very good PC application skills (Microsoft products).
- You have an excellent and confident command of the German language and good spoken English skills.
- You are a team-oriented, cooperative, proactive, and open personality with the desire to work independently and place great value on precise working methods.
