Head of Department Educational Programmes

Protection & Rescue Zurich (SRZ) unites as a service department of the Security Department the professional and militia fire brigade, the ambulance service as well as the operations control centre (ELZ) for emergency calls 144 and 118. In addition, civil protection, fire police and a training centre with an affiliated Higher Technical School for Rescue Professions (HFRB) belong to the largest civilian rescue organisation in Switzerland. Intervention and prevention units protect and rescue people, animals, property and the environment around the clock in the city of Zurich, at Zurich Airport and in the agglomeration.

Tasks

• Responsible for the personnel, strategic, financial and operational management of the Educational Programmes department
• Design of the education strategy
• Contact with stakeholders and representation of the HFRB externally
• Co-shaping the development of our educational institution as part of the divisional management
• Supporting team leaders in the implementation and further development of educational formats

Profile

• Leadership competence: Empathetic person with the ability to accompany and support employees, with appropriate training and further education. Willingness for change
• Contextual thinking: The ability to recognise connections and essential elements in the educational landscape, to think strategically, to create and use synergies
• Educational management: Practical experience in an equivalent function, experience at tertiary level B, a higher qualification in the education sector and excellent knowledge of the education market
• Communication skills: Open and transparent communication style that enables a benevolent and good relationship with the various stakeholders, active networking
