About the job
OWT is a strategy and technology consulting firm and a Swisscom company. We partner with Anthropic behind Alpha Factory, Switzerland's first center of excellence for human-centered AI adoption. In healthcare, we work with a range of AI and LLM providers to meet Swiss requirements for data protection and sovereign data processing.
We are on a mission to transform Swiss healthcare IT with open standards (openEHR, FHIR/HL7). To strengthen our Digital Health team, we are looking for a passionate Clinical Data Modeller to build robust, scalable data models for leading Swiss healthcare institutions, based in our Zurich office.
Your mission
- You will model clinical data (diagnoses, medication, findings) as openEHR archetypes and templates, with a focus on scalability, reusability, and long-term data availability
- You will design FHIR resources and profiles for operational data (appointments, bed occupancy, admissions/discharges), optimizing for interoperability and process efficiency
- You will manage the lifecycle of archetypes, templates, and FHIR profiles: versioning, impact analysis, and quality assurance
- You will define and maintain mappings between source systems, openEHR templates, and FHIR profiles
- You will ensure semantic consistency and correct use of clinical terminologies (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD)
- You will collaborate closely with other teams, translating business, clinical, and technical requirements into robust, well-structured data models
- You will work on digital health projects with leading Swiss healthcare institutions
- You will support and mentor client-side data modeling teams, helping them build a sustainable, repeatable approach to data modeling
- You will contribute to strengthening OWT's internal expertise in openEHR/FHIR and participate in strategy development
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in clinical/healthcare data modeling, with a focus on openEHR and/or FHIR
- Experience with lifecycle management of archetypes, templates, and FHIR profiles
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., in medicine, life sciences, natural sciences, computer science)
- A background in healthcare, or demonstrably strong domain knowledge and understanding of clinical workflows, terminology, and data
- Experience or strong interest in team leadership, bringing structure, strategy, and planning to clinical data modeling teams at client organizations
- Fluency in German and English (minimum C1 level); French is a plus
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with clinicians and technical stakeholders
- Certifications (openEHR, FHIR, HL7) are a plus
- A dynamic, collaborative culture with a strong client focus, working with prestigious Swiss organizations on diverse and cutting-edge technology projects
- A growth-oriented environment with a clear career path and fast progression opportunities
- A modern work model combining office presence, home office, and client-site collaboration
- A competitive salary and a healthy work-life balance
- A team of experts always ready to share knowledge, backed by a proven mentoring model to support your personal and professional development.
