Your area of responsibility
This position is ideal for a purchaser with operational experience. You want to work in a dynamic environment and enjoy continuously improving procurement processes and developing employees. In this key position, you are responsible for the operational procurement of construction and commercial goods in the North & Central as well as East regions. You ensure timely, cost-optimized supply and continuously develop procurement processes together with your team. In doing so, you work closely with category management, logistics, and sales.
Your main responsibilities
Responsibility for the entire operational procurement process – from requirements determination to goods delivery
Ensuring efficient, timely order processing
Monitoring inventory levels as well as active replenishment and stock planning
Close cooperation with category management in supplier selection and assortment implementations in the region
Maintenance and development of regional supplier relationships including price and condition negotiations
Monitoring supplier performance (quality, deadlines, costs)
Identification and implementation of measures for cost optimization and process improvement
Leadership, development, and motivation of subordinate employees according to HGC leadership principles throughout the entire employee life cycle
Regular travel to locations within your area of responsibility, workplace in the greater Zurich area
Your profile
Completed commercial training or studies in purchasing, supply chain management, business administration, or similar
Several years of experience in operational purchasing, ideally in the construction trade or commercial environment
Very good knowledge of supplier management, negotiation techniques, and inventory management
Leadership experience as well as pronounced customer and service orientation
Structured, solution-oriented, and independent working style
Very good communication and negotiation skills
Good SAP and MS Office skills
You communicate fluently in German
