Join us in our commitment to the vision of a solidaristic society, as Supervisor in Household Department MNA 60 – 80% in Zürich Uster (m/f/d) Since March 2024, Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centres for families, individuals and unaccompanied minors (MNA) at currently four locations in the canton of Zürich on behalf of the cantonal social office (KSA). Your tasks
- Collecting and welcoming newly arrived MNAs
- Supporting the socio-pedagogical key workers in building/promoting everyday practical skills (e.g. cleaning, homework/learning strategies, handling money/pocket money, balanced nutrition and personal hygiene, etc.)
- Developing/planning/implementing the daily structure, leisure/occupational activities
- Supporting the socio-pedagogical key workers in promoting young people’s money management skills as well as in crisis interventions and conflict resolution
- Accompanying MNAs to necessary appointments (doctor’s office, official errands, material purchases, SBB, etc.) as agreed
- Promoting social and self-competence, independence and psychological and social integrity
- Supporting compliance with house rules and maintaining a good group living atmosphere
- Professional experience in household management, cleaning and/or care is an advantage
- Enjoyment of working with unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (MNA) and interest in diverse cultural backgrounds
- Ability to instruct, accompany and empower young people in household tasks towards independence
- Patience, assertiveness and a respectful attitude in dealing with young people
- Ability to set clear boundaries and communicate rules understandably and consistently
- Willingness to work irregular hours and shifts according to operational requirements
- Good oral and written German skills; additional language skills are an advantage
- Confident use of common digital work tools
- Clean special private extract from the criminal record or willingness to submit this before starting the job
