The Primary Care Medicine Department (DMPR) has the societal mission to provide access to quality healthcare for all through community medicine, to ensure the management of minor medical and surgical emergencies, to promote prevention among citizens, to provide medical knowledge for judicial investigations, and to promote the health of travellers.

Due to the versatility of its expertise, the Romand University Centre of Forensic Medicine (CURML) is tasked with responding to all requests for expert opinions or advisory assistance in the fields of forensic medicine, medical law, and doping analysis. Located in the Lake Geneva region, its scope of competence extends regionally, nationally, and internationally.

The Traffic Medicine and Psychology Unit (UMPT) of the CURML conducts medical fitness-to-drive assessments, psychological fitness-to-drive evaluations, and medico-psychological fitness-to-drive expertises. The UMPT has two level 4 physicians, specialists in traffic medicine SSML, and two psychologists specialised in traffic psychology FSP. Consultation offices are located in the cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Fribourg, Neuchâtel, and Jura.

Job Description

Within the Traffic Medicine and Psychology Unit (UMPT), you will participate, under supervision, in fitness-to-drive assessments conducted at the unit’s various sites. To do so, you will work closely with the UMPT psychologists in evaluating the cases assigned to you and contribute to high-quality interdisciplinary care.

As part of your activities, you will also perform biological sampling for toxicological analyses and write expert reports that are validated and co-signed by the unit’s responsible physician.

To develop your skills in this specialised field, you will participate in scientific seminars as well as undergraduate training courses in traffic medicine, delivered in French and/or German.

Qualifications

You hold a medical degree or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission (MEBEKO).

Your excellent communication skills enable you to interact within a multidisciplinary team and with patients. You are autonomous, flexible, and demonstrate commitment.

Clinical experience within the Geneva hospital and/or outpatient network is desirable.

For non-French-speaking candidates, a C2 level in written French is required.
