The 21st Century Orchestra, based in Lucerne, is one of the internationally leading ensembles for film music. Since 1999, the orchestra has thrilled its audience with emotional film performances featuring epic soundtracks. Under the musical direction of Ludwig Wicki, professional musicians perform around 40 concerts annually at the KKL Lucerne as well as at other guest venues. The orchestra is deeply rooted in Central Switzerland and maintains close relationships with regional cultural institutions, business partners, and sponsors.

Your Mission

As an entrepreneurial leader, you will strategically, operationally, and personnel-wise develop the orchestra in collaboration with the artistic director and the association board. You will strengthen the connection to the region and our position in the cultural market, build sustainable partnerships and sponsorship relationships, and ensure the smooth running of all productions and projects with your small team.

Your Tasks

• Leading employees and managing the office
• Acquisition and contract negotiations with organisers and clients
• Securing funding, sponsors, and regional supporters
• Further development of organisation, strategy, marketing, and PR
• Planning and organising rehearsals, concerts, and tours with the team
• Responsibility for finances, budgeting, and liquidity planning (including salaries, SUISA…)
• Ensuring the financial management of the orchestra including reporting
• Expanding and maintaining media contacts and regional network contacts
• Contract management, IT systems, risk management, and process optimisation

Your Profile

• Several years of leadership experience, university degree or equivalent professional experience
• Leader and moderator in the development of new ideas, visions, and strategic elements
• Experience in project management (events), budgeting, and financial processes
• Hands-on mentality, organisational competence, and resilience
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Experience dealing with media, C-level contacts, and institutions
• Affinity for digital tools and IT systems
• Joy and enthusiasm for the 21CO product, affinity/knowledge of the music industry
