Your Mission
Precision opticians manufacture highly precise optical components such as lenses, mirrors, prisms, as well as other plane and round optical parts. These are used in optical devices for medical technology, photo and film technology, as well as surveying technology.
At STORZ, we focus on the production of components for medical technology. Your tasks as an apprentice include grinding, lapping, and polishing prisms, plane plates, aspheres, and rod lenses. You work with the highest precision and care, as the quality of the optical components is crucial for their later use in medical devices. You will learn to handle various measuring instruments and use them specifically for quality control. In addition, bonding, sealing, and assembling the optical components are important tasks for you. These work steps require manual dexterity and good technical understanding.
