About the job
Within an infrastructure department, you work as a network engineer contributing to the performance, availability, and security of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and data centre infrastructures distributed across multiple sites.
You actively participate in the operation, further development, and securing of network environments, collaborating with internal technical teams and external partners.
Your main tasks:
- Ensuring the daily operation of network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, data centre)
- Handling service requests (incidents, changes, configurations)
- Diagnosing and resolving complex incidents (Level N2/N3)
- Monitoring and optimising the monitoring of network infrastructures
- Ensuring high availability of critical environments
- Contributing to the design and further development of network architectures
- Participating in the introduction of new network and security standards at various sites
- Implementing and maintaining security mechanisms: L4/L7 filtering, segmentation, NAC, proxy, authentication
- Contributing to cross-departmental technical projects (integration of new solutions, mobility, IoT, critical infrastructures)
- Collaborating with suppliers and service providers
- Adhering to applicable processes and standards
Requirements
Education
- University degree in computer science, telecommunications, or an equivalent qualification
Experience
- Proven experience (at least 5 years) in network administration and security
Technical skills
- Solid knowledge in routing and switching: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MSTP, VTP
- Good command of firewall technologies (cluster, zoning, L4/L7 filtering)
- Experience with LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and data centre environments
- Good understanding of high availability concepts and network segmentation
- Network certifications advantageous (e.g. CCNA, CCNP)
Desirable knowledge:
- Solutions in NAC, enterprise Wi-Fi environments, firewall solutions, automation (Python, Ansible, API), Microsoft and Linux environments
