Social Worker / Social Pedagogue with Deputy Function, 55%
The offer from CONTACT Mobil is primarily aimed at adults whose place of residence or main living area is in public spaces. The focus is on people at risk of addiction and substance-dependent individuals. To best advise and support the target group in harm reduction matters, the teams of CONTACT Mobil work together with professionals, authorities, and other involved persons.
La Strada in Bern is aimed at sex workers at risk of addiction and offers them a place to relax and low-threshold counseling, the opportunity to exchange with other sex workers, distribution of condoms, and syringe exchange. The workplace is located in a camper directly on Taubenstrasse in Bern.
You will work in two teams, with your commitment comprising 40% at CONTACT Mobil and 10% at La Strada. For leadership tasks as a deputy in the absence of the program management, it is 5%.
Your tasks are:
at CONTACT Mobil
- Presence and contact with clients at their locations / meeting points in various municipalities of the canton of Bern
- Information provision, brief interventions, counseling and support for people in difficult life situations, crisis intervention in cases of acute physical and psychological danger
- Syringe supply, provision of prevention materials
- Coaching of self-managed meetings
- Collaboration with authorities, specialist agencies, and other organizations on harm reduction issues
at La Strada
- Counseling and support of sex workers directly on site in the bus
- Referral and networking with complementary institutions
- Distribution of prevention materials including counseling
- Psychological crisis intervention or initiation of immediate medical measures and corresponding triage
- Participation in project groups
We wish for:
- Training as a social worker or social pedagogue
- Knowledge/experience in the addiction field and/or dealing with sex workers is an advantage
- Interest in taking on leadership tasks in a deputy function
- Flexibility and commitment
- Good self-organization
- Languages: German spoken and written, French spoken (at least A2), additional language skills are an advantage
- Driver's license is mandatory
